Home Assistant sensors with Hearth
Works today; step-by-step guide coming soon. Home Assistant can already send readings with the Hearth API. A ready-to-paste setup is on the way.
Hearth makes a Daikin, Amana or Goodman smart thermostat aim for the rooms you live in, not the hallway it hangs in. If your sensors already live in Home Assistant, Hearth can use them, whatever they are: Zigbee sensors (such as Aqara or Sonoff) through ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, Z-Wave, Bluetooth sensors (including Govee and SwitchBot models), or anything else Home Assistant shows as a temperature.
How it works
- In Hearth, the home's admin creates a Hearth API key (Settings, then Admin, then Sensors, then Other sensors (Hearth API)).
- Home Assistant sends the sensors you choose to Hearth with that key, for example with a REST command and an automation.
- Each sensor then appears in Hearth with Add. Add it, name it for its room, and Hearth can aim for that room's temperature.
- Readings are pushed from Home Assistant, so Hearth never needs access to your Home Assistant.
Something not working? Email contact@meethearth.app with what Admin shows for Other sensors (Hearth API) under Sensors.
