ESPHome sensors with Hearth
Works today; step-by-step guide coming soon. ESPHome devices can already send readings with the Hearth API. A ready-to-paste configuration is on the way.
Hearth makes a Daikin, Amana or Goodman smart thermostat aim for the rooms you live in, not the hallway it hangs in. An ESP32 board and a temperature sensor (such as a BME280 or SHT31) make an inexpensive room sensor, and ESPHome can send its readings straight to Hearth over Wi-Fi, with or without Home Assistant.
How it works
- In Hearth, the home's admin creates a Hearth API key (Settings, then Admin, then Sensors, then Other sensors (Hearth API)).
- The device's ESPHome configuration sends its temperature and humidity to Hearth with that key, as often as you set it to.
- The sensor then appears in Hearth with Add. Add it, name it for its room, and Hearth can aim for that room's temperature.
Something not working? Email contact@meethearth.app with what Admin shows for Other sensors (Hearth API) under Sensors.
